What we collect
- Account details you give us: username, email address, an optional profile photo and optional travel details (home base, places visited, languages).
- Content you post: posts, comments, photos, voice notes and reports. Photos are resized and their location (GPS) data is removed when uploaded. Voice notes are stored as you recorded them, so please don’t say personal details in them.
- Microphone: only used when you tap Record, and only for the voice note you choose to post.
- Technical data: our server keeps standard logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security, and the site uses cookies needed to keep you logged in. We use privacy-friendly, cookie-free visit counting.
How we use it
To run the site, show your posts, keep the community safe (moderation, blocking and spam prevention) and reply to feedback. We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t show advertising based on your posts.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help run the site (our web host and Cloudflare for security and speed), or where the law requires it. Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode; YouTube’s own privacy policy applies when you play one.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and delete your posts at any time, and ask us to access, correct or delete your account and data. We keep data only as long as needed to run the site. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
